A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah j. Maas has 421 pages and was published in 2015 by Bloomsbury USA Childrens.

In A Court of Thorns and Roses, unfortunate circumstances have left Feyre and her family destitute with a broken (physically and mentally) father that is unable to provide for their well-being.  Due to the family’s misfortune, Feyre takes things into her own hands and she learns to take care of her family – whether they like it or not.  But, when a twist of fate takes her away from everyone and everything she has ever known, she must learn to let her guard down and let her destiny in.

Wow!  This book is exactly what I have been looking for in a YA fantasy novel.  I LOVE the story line.  A Court of Thorns and Roses is a thoroughly captivating read.  It has magic, romance, intrigue.  Fans of this genre couldn’t ask for more.

There were some predictable plot points in this book.  But, then there were also some exciting twists that make A Court of Thorns and Roses impossible to put down.  A few things I had completely figured out in my head – oh wait – nope, I was wrong!

This is definitely a book I would read more than once which is not something I do often.  Recommended for everyone – well, at least everyone with a soul.  Seriously, if you enjoy YA and fantasy novels and you haven’t read this book, you should.

Cannot wait to grab the next in the series and get started.
